A Time To Be Thankful
As we approach the Holiday Season, I am reminded of all the many blessings that are in my life and all the things I am thankul for. With all of the hustle and bustle and responsibilities of life, it is always good to stop and give thanks for our lives, children, family, and friends.
Music with Mommie would like to say thank you to all of you. With out you we would not have Music with Mommie. You have blessed us with friendship, laughter, community, warm hugs and little fingers from your children, and most of all love. We love you and wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!
Music with Mommie Halloween Celebration!
The last week of October, all of the Music with Mommie classes rocked it out as they sang, "Pumpkin patch, Pumpkin patch, we're heading out the the Pumpkin Patch". Many of the kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes and had a blast! Here are a few photos from each class.
Bellevue Class Highlights
The Bellevue class was greeted by a flower fairy, a penguin, a 50's poodle skirt girl, a very adorable witch, and a skeleton. The kids had fun playing their instruments, running around the dance studio, and eating pumplin muffins at the end of class.
Columbia Class Highlights
This colorful bunch had a great time playing with the parachute.
Murfreesboro Highlights
The Murfreesboro had a "spooktastic" time at their Halloween class! From Tigger to Tinkerbell, all children were dressed in costume and truly enjoyed playing instruments, moving to, and listening to creepy crawly music on this special day. Moms and kids alike will be talking about this class for weeks to come!
Mt. Juliet / Hendersonville Highlights
Who could resist such a sweet little baby cow?
Nolensville Class Highlights
The Nolensville class was visited by a flower fairy, bummble bee, lion, monkey, and lady bug. The kids had so much fun playing the instruments together, and it was a site to see!
Mommie of the Month
The Music with Mommie of the month is Tebeth Turnbloom and her daughter Camryn from the Bellevue class. Tebeth has been bringing her daughter Camryn to music class since September 2008. They have been faithful patrons and friends for over a year. Tebeth has been instrumental in organizing play dates and Moms night outs and she is a huge encouragement to the instructor and to the other moms in class.
Unfortunately, Tebeth and her family are moving to Memphis, TN mid-December and will no longer be able to attend class. We are sad to see Tebeth and Camryn move away, but they will always be a part of the Music with Mommie family. We love you Tebeth and you will be missed greatly!
Music with Mommie Testimonials
We have received some awesome feedback from several of our moms. Here are a few testimonials from several of our locations:
Anna from the Murfreesboro class says, "Will's been humming Wheels on the Bus since the first class. There's something special about this class. Will just seems to be blossoming in there. Kudos!"
"I am truly thankful for the Music with Mommie class you created. My girls absolutely LOVE going to music class! I was new to Tennessee when we joined and the girls and I have made so many new friends through class!
I think we would still be friendless Michiganders if not for music class! Thanks again for creating this class - We Love it!!" -- MIchelle Pipper

All Day Long, (From a Teacher's Perspective), by Sara McKelvey
As I prepare to leave my house at 9:15 am to teach Music Class there are several things I MUST do or I might as well just stay home. Are the instruments in my car? Guitar tuned? Curriculum in hand? Diaper bag filled? Snack Trap filled? Sippy cup filled? Then I grab a pacifier, pink puppy (my 18 month old's lovey) and a glass of water for mama and we are on our way zipping down the road. Oh wait, what about my keys to the studio?
Every Wednesday and Thursday morning this checklist plays in my head as my daughter and I head out the door. Once we arrive at the dance studio, I quickly unload all of the instruments, set up the table, turn on the music, change a stinky diaper, and wait as all of the mamas and babies show up for class.
The minute the first child walks in the door all of the stress washes away as I see the joy in their little faces as they see all of the instruments and all of their friends. Now all of the fun begins as we sing songs, and bring out all of the instruments. The class really takes a life of it's own and before you know it we're singing the good bye song and passing out stickers. I love when I announce sticker time and all of the kids come rushing to me so I can tell them what a good job they did in class. It just melts my heart.
Then all of the mamas just hang as the kids play and run around. I love the social time after class. It is a treat every week to talk to each mom and learn what she's going through. Though my morning may be somewhat hectic, it is worth every minute of my time to get to know this wonderful community of moms and their children. It is truly an honor and blessing to be a teacher with Music with Mommie.
MwM Quote of the Month
O Lord that lends me life,
Lend me a heart replete with thankfulness.
