Music With Mommie Visits the Spring Hill Firestation
Music With Mommie headed over to the Spring Hill Firestation last month. The firefighters let the kids climb in the engines and take a tour of the station. It was a fun and exciting visit for everyone!

In The Spotlight
This month's Spotlight mom is....drumroll, please....
Lindsey Parsons!
"My daughter Luci and I went to our first Music with Mommie when my son was about 7 weeks old. We had a great time singing, dancing, and playing instruments but our favorite thing was the bonding time. Even though I was sure I had given Luci lots of big sister attention, I think she really needed something more. She needed to be held and reassured that she was still just as special to me as she was before Clint came. I am so thankful for the experience we've had with Music with Mommie!"
Lindsey is a mom to Luci (4,) and Clint (3 mos.) She is the owner of Parson Photography in Summertown, Tennessee, where she specializes in children's portraiture and creative design.

“Prego”
Well friends, I’m prego. Yep prego. Not to be confused with Lego my Eggo. As in expecting #2. As in “Here we go again with the nasea, the swollen ankles, the incessant hormonal-ness, the twelve hour cat naps, the gagging while brushing teeth, and the ‘what I am going to wear today, oh yeah, the same thing I wore yesterday, my prego pants’.”
Now don’t get me wrong, this is a happily received even-though-I-wanted-to- enjoy-my-summer pregnancy. I am thrilled to be adding little Junior to my little growing brood and am looking forward to things like ball games in the heat, baby slings that are too tight and a growing awareness that I am becoming one of those “older” moms.
It’s times like these that I am so glad I am not alone in my “can’t fit in those jeans anymore” years. So happy I am surrounded by women who could care less what my scale is telling me these days, who look beyond my wrinkling skin and tired eyes and are happy to lift me out of my little funk and raise me up on higher mountains, giving me a fresh view. (Enter Josh Groban.)
There is a song I sing to my little Rebekah called “I Love You in the Morning.” It goes like this. Make up the melody yourself, that’s your assignment this month. “I love you in the mornin’ (I love you in the mornin’) I love you in the evenin’ (I love you in the evenin’) I love you in the noontime (I love you in the noontime) Cause I love you all the time (I love you all the time) I love you when you’re happy, when you’re snappy, when you’re sappy, when your moody, when you’re groovy and even when you’re rudey I love you, you, you, you! I love you, you, you, you! I love you!”
I am wondering if somebody would call me and sing this song to me today because I think I need to know even in the midst of my moodiness, my hormonal-ness, my “oh my gosh I am going to be as big as a truck again-ness”, that I am still loved. That I will make it through. This too shall pass. And I have a big prize waiting for me at the end.
So if you see me on the side of the road walking and waddling in a few months, hey just honk and say “Lookin’ Good Stacy! Keep it up girlfriend!” Or if you see me in my SUV with the big Music with Mommie sign in the back singing the ABC’s for the 99th millionith time, just honk, roll down your window and say, “Hey girl! That’s some good ABC’s!”
Sometimes it’s just a little comic relief we need to get through our day. That and a good Music with Mommie class. Come try it sometime. We’ll sing to you. And we hula hoop to the Beach Boys. And our two year olds count to ten in French. Yep.
I love my mother as the trees love water and sunshine - she helps me grow, prosper, and reach great heights. ~Adabella Radici
