O Momma Writes!

O Momma Writes!

Introducing our new friend in the adventures of motherhood, Leah at O Momma Writes!

Leah is a mom and a full-time English major in college and still finds time to recommend useful things to other moms to help make the job of mothering  a little easier.

As many of our moms have commented over these past two years, the Music with Mommie vol. 1 CD can really come to the rescue on long car rides... or even short ones!

Leah reviewed our CD in her recent O Momma Recommends column "Kids Music That Doesn’t Hurt My Ears: Part II"

Enjoy the review, leave a comment, or just peruse Leah's useful and fun site at  www.omommawrites.com !

Music with Mommie All Day Long... with Dada

Music with Mommie All Day Long... with Dada

Okay, what's with the title here?

Well, truth is, we're on vacation and Chief Mommie of Music with Mommie, Stacy Jagger is trying to catch some rays on the beach and is really "busy" looking through the thousands of photos of baby Luke that she has taken in the past 48 hours and posting her favs to Facebook.

So, how the heck are we gonna wrap up this newsletter and get it off to the presses? Rebekah and Dada to the rescue of course!

Yes, in our own slightly theatrical-meets-interview style, young genius 3-year-old Rebekah and her Dada are going to bring our everyday experience to your computer screen. Here goes...

Dada: Rebekah, Mama needs us to finish her newsletter and send it to all the mommies at music class.

Rebekah: Let's talk Dada. What's a newsletter, Dada?

Dada: You know, all those words and pictures on Mama's screen that she has been working on?

Rebekah: Okay Dada.

Dada: We need to tell the mommies how we have music all day long at our house. Do we have music all day long?

Rebekah: Yes!

Dada: HOW do we do it?

Rebekah: We stay up late and sing songs, lotsa songs before we go to bed! We sing (Note that all of the following were sung in their entirety during this phase of writing our column) A-B-C-D-E-F-G...Next time won't you sing with me. Baa Baa Black Sheep have yer inny woo? Yessir, yessir, three bags full.... Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb... It followed her to school one day. Noo noo noo, nah nah nah (to the tune of Mary Had a Little Lamb)....

Mommie gets all the instruments out and when we put them away we say "Chug-a-lug-a-chug-a-lug-a-choo-choo!" I share but Lukey puts them in his mouth Dada.

Dada: Yes, Rebekah. You're right. And what songs do you sing to Lukey boy?

Rebekah: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.... Kum Bah Yah... If you're happy and you know it... do all three. Clap-clap, stomp-stomp, Amen, hurray! The Wheels on the bus go round and round... What other songs do I sing to Luke Dada?

Dada: Sweet girl, I've lost track, but they are all great ones!

Rebekah: Now everybody will know what songs I sing!

Dada: Yes they will, Rebekah. Yes they will.

MwM Quote of the Day

"I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. It's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we're from, everybody loves music."

Rebekah's Musings

Rebekah's Musings

Once upon a time,
there was a little girl called Rebekah.
She was feeding some birds called sea gulls,
and one of the sea gulls flew over her head.

THE END.
